What's the Quirk staff playing lately? We'll tell you! Luigi’s Mansion 3 came to Switch this past Halloween, and we're loving it. Our poor plumber friend must brave a haunted house yet again to save his hapless friends. (Who, really, should start spending a little less time near these ghost-filled mansions in the first place!) As usual, Luigi trusts players to guide him through puzzles and past ghosts (with the help of his trusty little vaccum cleaner!) on his way to help his friends. We feel for Luigi—he’s not the bravest of plumbers, even though he’ll do whatever it takes to save Mario and the gang. So we’re giving him a little reading list…or one to help him between now and the inevitable fourth installment in the Luigi’s Mansion series. We've got your back, Luigi!

Do you ever need a break from reading? We know, reading is life. But every once in a while, we need a different form of entertainment. That’s why we came up with a list of video games that you can play that have great stories and fill more like books/movies than a console.

There is an age-old argument amongst readers: book or movie? Which version was better? So we started to wonder, what if the age-old argument was book or video game? In order to tackle the question, we made a list of books that would make epic video games.

We’ve already talked at length about literary video games you should play, but what about literary games you shouldn’t play? What about video games based on books that, by their very nature, would be no fun at all? Here’s some of those imagined video games, which we should all be very glad don’t exist.

It’s August 31, which means that Life is Strange: Before the Storm is upon us! This prequel to one of 2015’s breakout video games, Life is Strange, tells more of Chloe Price’s story. If you played LiS, you probably remember this blue-haired rebel, whom protagonist Max Caulfield saves from a murderous prep schooler by rewinding time.

LiS is all about Max and Chloe’s exploration of Max’s new powers, which come in handy for the pair. They’re searching for Chloe’s friend Rachel, but ultimately dig up way more dirt than they intended on the small town of Arcadia Bay…which puts them in danger. Often.

As we waited for Before the Storm, we got to thinking: what other characters would’ve benefited from Max’s powers? Plenty, we realized. Here are six characters whose lives would have been much easier if they’d just been able to travel a few minutes into the past.
