Legends of Tomorrow enters its second season this month, and promises a sophomore outing bursting with time-travelling adventures. Most of the original team is returning, along with a whole new gang of characters from the Justice Society of America, including Hourman, Stargirl, Citizen Steel, and an all-new Vixen. They’ll be back on the Waverider, attempting to save the timeline again (and undoubtedly going up against a brand-new villain, too). It’s action-packed comic-book sci-fi and we absolutely love it!

Do you ever come home from a convention drained? How do you feel during the last few hours before departure when things are winding down, vendors are pushing their last few discounted sales, and staffers are cleaning up? Sad? Gloomy? Maybe you leave in a rush and upon getting home write about your amazing time and then it hits you.

Getting post-con blues is more common than you’d think. It’s hard to go back to “real life” after having a weekend of escapism, seeing all the neat cosplays and participating in panels. Sitting behind a desk or dealing with customer service for hours seems even more like a drag.

Fortunately, there are ways to minimize the gloom.

It’s Day Two of New York Comic Con. You’ve spent the past eighteen-months on a Bohemian budget using any extra funds to buy the most authentic fabric, the newest pattern, or perhaps a commission from your favorite cosplayer to make your dream costume come to life. Exhausted from living on 99-cent packs of ramen, you’re finally thrilled with the final product only to overlook the potential of disaster. Thirty seconds can ruin eighteen months of planning, sweat, frustration, tears, and the inability to sense pain after growing immune to stabbing yourself with a sewing needle so many times that you’re grateful for your last tetanus shot.

Getting punched sucks. The dull thud of flesh on flesh as an argument reaches its apex is by far one of the most off-putting experiences of life. Since today is National Punch Day, we at Quirk have decided to ignore the fruity beverage version of punch and instead take a look at some of the most epic punches in comic books and literature.

Netflix has come a long way from the days of mailing us DVDs. Now, the streaming service isn’t just making it easier to binge-watch existing shows – it is creating its own line-up of original programming… and it is absolutely killing it. From historical dramas to real-life crime, from anime to teen horror, Netflix has an original series for everyone – especially bookworms. Many of the most popular Netflix series are based on books, and with good reason. Adaptations come with an existing fan base without the need to create an entirely new story from scratch. It’s no wonder Netflix loves adapting them!

In the first episode of Netflix's binge-worthy series Stranger Things, aptly titled “The Vanishing of Will Byers,” a young boy with a fondness for X-Men comics and Dungeons & Dragons gets pulled into a creepy parallel dimension that his friends later dub the Upside Down. Throughout the series, several more characters wind up visiting the Upside Down, either in an attempt to get Will back or because they were dragged there against their will, with varying results. Some come away unscathed. Others… not so much.
