For those of you who haven’t experienced the pleasure of wine and books, wine is the perfect accessory to your reading time. Not only do you look classy, you get a good buzz going while the worlds you read come to life before your eyes. If you don’t believe me, just try it the next time you get ready to unwind with a good book.

Now the question is: which wine goes with which book? Or vice versa? To give you an idea of merging flavors with genre/tone/style, here is a list of some excellent books and the wines that would pair beautifully with them. Commençons!

Now before you dress yourself up—or down, whatever your style—and grab your book, here are some helpful tips for a perfect restaurant book date.

Think back on the last time you went to a bookstore. That aisle of brightly-colored books with numbers on their spines. No, not the encyclopedia aisle. The other one. The manga aisle, usually full of readers squatting down by their favorite series, reading voraciously with an adoring, excited look in their eyes.

And while you may know Sailor Moon, Dragon Ball Z, or that one with the card-playing kid with the spiky hair, you may NOT know just how many different kinds of manga there are. In fact, many manga have stories with a similar feel to some contemporary YA fiction. If you've never given manga a try, now's the time! So sit back, pull up a chair, and let’s get you reading some manga!

Have you ever wondered where famous authors pen what are now, or soon to be, considered the greatest stories of all time? It’s easy to imagine that these authors have fantastic offices overlooking vast oceans or hay fields, but the reality of where these great novels are penned might surprise you.

Maybe if a writer hears "write what you know" enough times it manifests itself into writers writing characters who are—wait for it… authors. Or writers may love being writers so much they know of no other profession they’d like to pass on to their characters. Or maybe the profession isn’t limiting so author protagonists are not written from the same pen, giving us a variety of characters to love. I mean we all love fictitious authors as much as real authors, right? Okay, good because here are 7 author protagonists and 1 antagonist—come on, there always has to be at least one—to watch on TV.
