For many, Halloween means loads of candy, crazy costumes, and scary monsters. But monsters have feelings too! It may be hard to believe, but underneath the claws, fangs, and scales beats the heart of a romantic. That's why we're pairing up literature's scariest monsters in hope that they'll make a love connection.

On Halloween, we get excited for—what else?—all the horror stories. In order to save everyone time, we imagined two-sentence short stories written by our favorite fictional characters. But be warned, some of these are downright terrifying…for these characters' standards.

Stephen King once said, in the original foreword to Night Shift, that “the great appeal of horror fiction…is that it serves as a rehearsal for our own deaths.” With Halloween around the corner, scary stories are everywhere – on TV, on the bookshelves at your local indie, under your bed – but why do we get so excited about stories that give us goosebumps that we turn into something resembling brain-hungry zombies?

On October 19, people will be evaluating their lives for Evaluate Your Life Day. People will break up with unhealthy partners, take up new exercise routines, and go back to school to pursue their dream jobs. We have compiled a list of some characters who should evaluate their lives, and we have provided a few suggestions to help them get back on track.

It's that time of year again—the time to watch Interview with the Vampire. It makes us wonder what would happen if vampires were interviewed by journalists for teen magazines. We created our own interviews with our favorite vampires. Just be sure to read them in the sunlight.
