Fiction is fantastic, but sometimes we are reminded that while the truth may not be stranger than fiction, it can at least be as compelling. Panelists will discuss significant people and incidents from our own reality-Dungeons & Dragons creator Gary Gygax, the origins of Tetris, vampire slayers, the dude on the $10, and fangirls. Graeme McMillan of The Hollywood Reporter will lead the discussion with Koren Shadmi (Rise of the Dungeon Master), Box Brown (Tetris), Jonathan Hennessey (Alexander Hamilton), and Sam Maggs (The Fangirl's Guide to the Galaxy).

Publisher Hope Nicholson, creator Trina Robbins (Pretty in Ink), and contributing artists Jen Vaughn, Elizabeth Watasin, Miriam Libicki, and Willy Mendes discuss the creation of the anthology A Bunch of Jews (A Minyen Yidn) and portraying Jewish characters from within and outside of the culture. 3:00-4:00pm in Horton Grand Theatre Fred Van Lente will be on the "It's a Funny Story…Writing Humor" Everyone's heard the saying, "Dying is easy-it's comedy that's hard." The panelists discuss the challenges of creating humor that reaches an audience and how it can be used to temper serious tomes. Brendan Reichs(Nemesis) guides the conversation with Brandon Snider (What Would Captain Picard Do?), Fred Van Lente (Ten Dead Comedians), Liz Climo (You Don't Want a Unicorn), Gini Koch (The Alien Series), and Gabe Hudson (Gork, the Teenage Dragon).
