Book Recommendations for the Newest Decade of Roaring ‘20s
We’ve all seen the memes. Those GIFs of Leonardo DiCaprio toasting the camera in his Jay Gatsby best, accompanied by some variation on the phrase “The roaring ‘20s are back!” But what if we weren’t living in an F. Scott Fitzgerald novel? What if, spoiler alert, we weren’t huge fans of dying? It’s 2020 and we’re here to definitively say: your decade does not need to be roaring. So here are a few book recommendations for our kind of party.

To End the Decade: Books and Movies That Never Die
Photo by Masaru Suzuki from Pexels
As the decade rolls down to its inevitable end, it is hard to think that the twenty first century is nearly a quarter done. It is weird though that the feeling of finality is nothing more than an artifice, a presentation of an idea which has no bearing on reality. The clock will strike midnight on December of 2019 and in a flash, it will be Jan 1st 2020. The world will continue to turn and life will continue forward essentially undisturbed. Much like the passage of time, there are some stories which seemingly will never end and with that in mind, we've have decided to provide a list of tales which seem to have an infinite shelf life.

If you’ve got a holiday humbug in your life, though, we’ve got the perfect books for you to gift them (even if they hate gifts). From the books to warm their hearts to those to get them some much-needed alone time, these are the best reads for anyone who is embracing their inner Scrooge.

The holiday season is here again, and that means it’s time for Christmas movies! Hallmark has already been playing seasonal sweetness for weeks, and Netflix has launched their latest batch of Christmas-y films (including the third in the hugely popular A Christmas Prince series). However, for some people, Christmas movies don’t just include those with romance culminating on Christmas Eve, or with snowy scenes of Santa Claus and gift exchanges. Instead, some prefer to watch films that just…feel a little bit Christmas-y, even if it’s not immediately clear why: and these are some of the most popular non-holiday movies that everyone enjoys at the end of December.

CATS Parodies and References in Pop Culture
CATS opened this week in cinemas worldwide and, honestly, we have no idea what to expect from this movie musical. (We haven't seen it yet.) Its Broadway counterpart broke box office records – but with stage makeup and a 1980s aesthetic instead of CGI faces and a strange new plot. Rather than speculate about just how weird this movie might be, we’re looking back at our favorite CATS references and parodies in pop culture. There are so many!
