The Grammys may have come and gone, but we all know the music listening has just begun. We’re offering you some recommended reading while you catch up on these Grammy Awards winners, all so you can optimize your reading/listening experience.

Jason Rekulak is the publisher of Quirk Books – and because his debut novel The Impossible Fortress hit bookstores last week, we’ve chosen Jason for this month’s On the Spiral Starcase spotlight.

In his seventeen years at Quirk Books, Jason has acquired and edited a number of Quirk favorites – including Pride and Prejudice and Zombies by Jane Austen and Seth Grahame-Smith, Miss Peregrine’s Home for Peculiar Children by Ransom Riggs, and The Last Policeman trilogy by Ben H. Winters. He oversees all of Quirk’s editors and designers, and he’s personally worked on hundreds of books…so let’s see how he answers our five questions!

February 10 is National Umbrella Day, and what better way to commemorate the occasion than to admire a few of the most unusual umbrellas, pernicious parasols, and baleful bumbershoots ever used by that Blackbird of Banditry, Gotham City's Man of A Thousand Umbrellas, The Penguin!

Keanu is one of those people who only needs one name like Cher, Bono or Sting. The man has been one of the greatest action stars of all time with films like Speed and the Matrix bringing in mass quantities of dead presidents at the box office. Just this month, Keanu will be gracing the world with the sequel to his sleeper hit John Wick, which is bound to be yet another success. Even so, from time to time, he seems to like to stretch his wings. Mr. Reeves played Don John in Kenneth Branagh’s adaptation of Much Ado about Nothing. He also took a shot at Johnathan Harker in the Francis Ford Coppola version of Bram Stoker’s novel Dracula. While Keanu’s acting sometimes meets with mixed reviews, it is clear that America loves him, and could love him in a variety of different literary roles.

The LEGO Batman Movie, written by our own Seth Grahame-Smith, is in theaters tomorrow! You may recognize Seth from a little best seller called Pride and Prejudice and Zombies. To celebrate, Kristen from My Friends Are Fiction created a mashup of LEGO and the cover of PPZ. Now that's rad! 

If this doesn't make you want to see The LEGO Batman Movie while silmutaneously reading PPZ, we don't know what will. (But really, don't do that. One at a time, friends.)
