About the Author
Heather Gibbs Flett & Whitney Moss
The Rookie Moms, Heather Flett (right) and Whitney Moss (left), are dedicated to inspiring moms to have more fun with parenting. Upon discovering that babies don't suggest, "Hey mom, let's go out and get you some new jeans and a latte", they decided to take matters into their own hands. They have been posting daily onRookieMoms.com for six years and also publish a local site for parents in the Bay Area (510families.com). Heather and Whitney recommend outings, share experiences, provide tips, and encourage moms to try new things — with their babies in tow. They are the coauthors of The Rookie Mom's Handbook: 250 actvities to do with (and without!) your baby (Quirk 2008) and Stuff Every Mom Should Know (Quirk, 2012). They both live in Berkeley, Calif., and between them have five children. They have been featured in Pregnancy and Newborn magazine, Parents magazine, and Parade, and have acted as spokespeople for Huggies, LEGO, and Healthy Child Healthy World. They are also regular contributors to BabyCenter.com's Momformation blog.
