We know that Peter Kavinsky is a lacrosse star and an all-around athlete, but he’s never really given baseball a fair shot. Until now. We think that he’ll love Emily Nemens’ debut novel The Cactus League, a matryoshka doll of sorts where each chapter goes deeper and deeper into a different element of the fictional Los Angeles Lions baseball team. Outlander by Diana Gabaldon
Because Margot decided to go to college in Scotland, we just know that she’ll be willing to go on a Scottish time travel adventure in the next book she reads. Outlander is a classic among historical romance fans and sci-fi/fantasy readers alike – and at nearly 700 pages, it’s perfect for those long flights from Edinburgh to Portland. Crazy Stupid Bromance by Lyssa Kay Adams
Daniel, the patriarch of the Covey family, is dating again, and it’s very cute. But because it’s been a while since he was in the dating game, we’re recommending he pick up one of Lyssa Kay Adams’ Bromance Book Club books – the only romance series we know of that treats men like the protagonist of their own story. We think Daniel will particularly enjoy Crazy Stupid Bromance, which centers on two friends who fall in love. He does fall for his friendly neighbor, after all.

Running by Natalia Sylvester
Kitty is so confident and comfortable, so we wanted to make sure we were recommending a book to match. Natalia Sylvester’s young adult novel Running is the perfect fit for a teen coming into her own. The book centers on Mariana, the daughter of a presidential candidate who’s starting to realize that her values don’t align with her father’s – and she wants to do something about it. It’s full of the same strength we’ve come to know and love from Kitty. And who knows! Kitty Covey might be destined for activism one day.
