Launching All Across Earth: The Big Book of Mars
Science is endlessly fascinating. It’s the puzzle of the universe that great minds have been working on bit by bit since, well, since the first great mind. But this book started with another passion of mine: weird history.

Book Club Recs for Fictional BFFs
(Photo by Elle Hughes from Pexels)
You know the old saying: friends who read together, stay together. While we’re big fans of book clubs, deep down we know that the best book clubs aren’t clubs at all – they’re pairs of best friends agreeing to read the same book, just so the other doesn’t have to go through all those literary feelings alone. As we continue our socially distanced friendships, two-person book clubs are one of the only things keeping our spirits up. So, we wanted to spread that joy to our favorite fictional BFFs. Enjoy!

Why Our Paperback Crushes Deserve a Netflix Makeover
[Image from Pixabay on Pexels]
The Baby-Sitters Club is getting a total makeover this summer with a new Netflix series that premieres on July 3. And while '80s nostalgia is very big these days (attention Stranger Things), The Baby-Sitters Club promises to be a 2020 update of the characters we know and love. Just take a look at the teaser trailer! There are smart phones littering the floor of Claudia Kishi’s room. That see-through landline is definitely a business decision. (Thanks, Kristy.)
And while we love the Baby-Sitters Club, we can’t help but think about all the other book series we fell in love with in the '80s and '90s. For an exhaustive list, be sure to check out Gabrielle Moss’ Paperback Crush. And for a deep dive into how some of our faves might fare on Netflix, read on!

Meteors in Pop Culture Ranked from Scariest to Least Scary
[Image by Alexander Antropov from Pixabay]
Right now, it might seem like a meteor or asteroid would just be another event on the bad-year BINGO sheet of 2020, but not all meteors are bad ones! In fact, if we want to get technical about it, meteors are rarely bad ones, as a meteor is a part of an asteroid or meteorite that has broken off, headed toward Earth, and burned up in the atmosphere, creating a beautiful streak of light across the sky.
The scary stuff is the asteroid itself, that big hunk of space-rock (we’re getting less technical now) that is the Big Bad of so many disaster movies. But even then, some are definitely a little more frightening than others, and we’ve got some of the biggest, baddest, and best right here.
