Superman & Lois premieres on The CW on Tuesday, February 23, and we’re excited to see where this contemporary story about some very familiar characters takes us. In fact, Superman & Lois has us daydreaming about a small screen future for some of our favorite superheroes, many of whom are part of the Marvel and DC universes we’ve come to know and love. It’s so exciting to be a comics reader right now – and we’re so excited to share some of our favorites with you!

The world could always do with a little more kindness, which is what Random Acts of Kindness Day is all about. The whole week of February 14–20 is devoted to the idea of spreading a little kindess, and it doesn’t have to be big, either. Sometimes, the only thing needed is to help out a neighbor, donate a little something, give a loved one a gift, or just be kind to yourself!

In a month that is so often centered on romantic love, the idea of focusing on kindess for everyone is a wonderful balance. If you need a little extra inspiration, these characters are a fantastic choice, as they are some of the kindest in pop culture.

The Grinch, Rabbit from Winnie the Pooh, Oscar the Grouch—everyone has their favorite grumpy character, and with National Do a Grouch a Favor Day on February 16th, now’s the time to reach out and do your fictional favs a solid by writing some fanfiction where things start to look up for them.

You could also reread their stories and remind yourself that many grouches, even ones as crotchety as Scrooge, are often paired with characters like Cindy Lou Who or Pooh, whose good-nature and kind hearts unwittingly lead them to do the biggest of favors for these bad-tempered individuals: catalyze a change of heart (awwww).

In celebration of National Do a Grouch a Favor Day, here are a select few cranky and crabby, snappy and surly, moody and miserable fictional grouches and their benevolent benefactors.

In case you’ve forgotten, here’s a friendly reminder: Dwayne “The Rock” Johnson remains one of the most interesting men in the world. From remaining one of the biggest movie stars on the planet to branching out into the wild world of tequila, The Rock is an infinitely fascinating guy with a story to match. His life and career have followed particularly unique paths, the sort ripped straight out of a sitcom—appropriate considering that his autobiographical Young Rock premieres this week.

With a life so wild it sometimes reads as a work of fiction (and with a format that will see three distinct eras of The Rock’s youth portrayed), there are plenty of stories the show can look to for inspiration. Here are some of the weirdest, wildest stories from The Rock’s pre-Rock days that we’re hoping the show adapts at some point.

In the best surprise we’ve had all year, the final movie in the To All the Boys I’ve Loved Before trilogy is coming to Netflix! To All the Boys: Always and Forever focuses on Lara Jean Covey’s senior year of high school and all the exciting and terrifying choices that come with a rapidly approaching graduation. To celebrate, we put together some book recommendations for Lara Jean, Peter Kavinsky, and the entire Covey family. Because after all these years, these characters have started to feel like family.

Everyone knows how good a delicious, comforting slice can be. There’s a pizza for everyone, too. Whether your pizza looks like a classic greasy slice, a Chicago Deep Dish, or a vegan-cheese pizza on a cauliflower crust, everyone can fall in love with a slice of ‘za.

And of course, just as there is a kind of pizza for every eater, there is a kind of book for every reader. In honor of the slice, we decided to see where these might line up! (Although, of course, who cares if your page and pizza line up, just enjoy them…and try not to get tomato sauce on the pages!)
