People will break up with unhealthy partners, take up new exercise routines, and go back to school to pursue their dream jobs. Ten Musicals That Deserve the Live TV Treatment

Beginning with The Sound of Music LIVE! a few years ago, TV networks have slowly but surely been working to bring stage musicals both classic and modern into our living rooms. The first couple productions were more miss than hit, but TV musicals finally seemed to hit their stride with 2015's Grease: Live and The Wiz Live! Soon, we will be getting a new version of The Rocky Horror Picture Show, followed not long after by Hairspray Live! And after that – we hope — the sky's the limit.

While some musicals might not necessarily work on network TV, either due to the content of the show or the complexity of the staging, below are ten shows that would thrive in this format, along with suggestions for who the networks could tap to star in each one. Are you listening, TV executives?

Miss Peregrine DIY Hair and Makeup

As you may imagine, we at Quirk Books have been struck by Peculiar Fever since the movie adaptation of Ransom Riggs’s Miss Peregrine’s Home for Peculiar Children came out. But when I saw the movie, I was focused on more than just the story: I couldn’t get enough of Miss Peregrine’s look. The steely blue hair! The perfect eyeliner! The sculpted curls! I knew I had to try the look myself, especially since Halloween is coming up. After some experimentation on my patient roommate, Priya, may I suggest that an Alma Peregrine Halloween costume is just the ticket?

Dictionary Day, October 16, is a day to celebrate Noah Webster's birthday—the Father of the American Dictionary. It's a day to learn a new word and increase your vocabulary, a day to say your favorite silly word aloud as many times as you want, and a day to see which words fictional characters probably love saying aloud.
