We love reimagining books as something else. (Have you read our Favorite Books as Halloween Candy posts?) For Record Store Day, we're reimagining books as some of the greatest albums out there.

Ivy Noelle Weir started her bookish career at nineteen years old, when a reference librarian at the local library caught her crying in an alleyway after learning that the coffee shop where she worked was going to be abruptly shut down. He offered her a job as a circulation clerk, and what started as a part-time way to pay the bills turned into an award-winning career in librarianship and eventually, a Master’s Degree in library science. Ivy also holds a degree in art history, helps to manage The Valkyries and Valkyries Valhalla (two international organizations of female nerd professionals with over 800 combined members), speaks at events and conferences nationwide about comics and pop culture, and just celebrated the release of her first graphic novel, Archival Quality (about a haunted library, of course). Since coming to Quirk’s publicity and marketing department in 2016, she has worked with librarians, bloggers, and comic con attendees to spread the word about Quirk titles.

We hope you've enjoyed our Webcomics Week…and now that you're inspired, it's time to create some great webomics of your own!

And here's some final advice, courtesy of Michelle Gish, one of our fave webcomic creators.

1. Make something you know you'll be passionate about! If not, after a while working on it may start feeling like a chore. Just remember to have fun with it!

2. Post consistently. Try to update your comic on a regular schedule. If you want to build an audience, people will most likely keep following it if they know you're going to keep posting.

3. Don't be frustrated if you feel like no one is reading your webcomic. Trust me, if you keep working on it, people will start to read it! When things get difficult, remember why you wanted to start your webcomic in the first place and that will motivate you to keep going.
