Another year has come and gone, more or less, and with it comes the end of the year lists. We are not immune! Neither, for that matter, can we resist the siren song of the book to movie adaptation. Some of them were actually—dare we say it—pretty good! So here are our faves (in no particular order except possibly by theme). Remember to reprimand us in the comments if we forgot your favorite!

The holidays are finally upon us! This hopefully means you have some free time to relax in your favorite reading chair and read a book by candlelight. To make your holiday reading even more special, pour yourself a glass of the perfect beverage to go with whatever genre your heart has chosen.

One of my favorite sprinkles inspired quotes came from We are not Martha who said, “sprinkles are one of the happiest things in all the world. Though I have probably a dozen blank notebooks in varying sizes and styles, I cannot resist buying more. The ability to create one’s own journal or project portfolio is a skill that I’ve always wanted to develop, but until I do, I will continue to covet others’ handmade gems.

Here at Quirk, we believe writers can do anything: star in movies, be superheroes…and pull sleighs. Why not? So, in the spirit of the holiday season, we thought it was time to divvy up Santa’s team of reindeer according to their famous author personalities…
