At this point in socially distancing, we’re all getting a little nostalgic for diner food. “Two eggs, any style” is such an open invitation, one that makes the possibilities feel endless. Here at Quirk Books, we’ve been putting our diner day dreams to the test by perfecting our omelets and shimmying as we soft scramble. We’ve even thought about trying to poach an egg! And we want to share our renewed love of eggs with you by recommending the perfect breakfast-book pairings. Ready?

The new Stargirl adaptation on Disney+ is making us feel all sorts of feelings. When we first read Jerry Spinelli’s novel in the early 2000s, it was a watershed moment. Middle grade and young adult had never looked like that before. It didn’t speak the language of our generation. It felt like it was written just for us. And while Stargirl remains a beautiful book about nonconformity and remaining true to yourself, it got us thinking about more contemporary middle grade novels that we love. What would those film and TV adaptations look like?

Mothers’ Day is coming up and with that comes the age-old question: what do you get for the most important person in your life, the woman who instilled your love of reading and is always ready with a book recommendation and an audiobook review? You create a tribute to your favorite mothers in literature by genre, of course.

Maybe it’s all this social distancing, but we’ve been daydreaming about outer space a lot lately. And while we’ve spent most of this quarantine sharing book recommendations with our friends and coworkers, we’ve spent very little time coming up with book recommendations for some of the planets in our solar system. Yes, you read that right.

Having a sibling can be a great thing, a person to grow up with, a person to share experiences with, and someone to talk to about your parents. We love our siblings and wanted to celebrate life with them by giving a look at some of the best siblings in comic books and graphic novels. While they may not always get along, that doesn’t’ mean they don’t love each other on some level.
