Over the last few years, Netflix has really held the market on adapting comics to television. Sure, other streaming services have done the same, like Amazon Prime with The Boys and Hulu with The Runaways, but comic adaptations like Locke and Key, Daredevil, October Faction, and The Umbrella Academy have been the bread and butter of Netflix. This month, they're at it again with The Old Guard, based on the comic of the same name by Greg Rucka and Leandro Fernandez and starring Charlize Theron as the lead character. Well Netflix, here are some other comic books which could really use a good show!

Cheer Up the Lonely Day is coming up and let’s face it: we’re all a little lonely out here. Whether we’re still quarantining (flatten that curve! wear your mask!) or just simply in a melancholy state of mind, we can all use a little company – even if that company comes in the form of fictional characters in our favorite books and movies. And hey, even fictional characters crave a little companionship. And what if they’re simply stuck in the wrong universe. Today, we’re pairing some of our favorite bookish characters with lonely characters from movies and TV. Because everyone deserves a friend!

You know the old saying: friends who read together, stay together. While we’re big fans of book clubs, deep down we know that the best book clubs aren’t clubs at all – they’re pairs of best friends agreeing to read the same book, just so the other doesn’t have to go through all those literary feelings alone. As we continue our socially distanced friendships, two-person book clubs are one of the only things keeping our spirits up. So, we wanted to spread that joy to our favorite fictional BFFs. Enjoy!

The Baby-Sitters Club is getting a total makeover this summer with a new Netflix series that premieres on July 3. And while '80s nostalgia is very big these days (attention Stranger Things), The Baby-Sitters Club promises to be a 2020 update of the characters we know and love. Just take a look at the teaser trailer! There are smart phones littering the floor of Claudia Kishi’s room. That see-through landline is definitely a business decision. (Thanks, Kristy.)
