Book Recs for Snoop Dogg
It’s Snoop Dogg’s birthday this weekend and we can’t help but wonder if he already has a copy of Stuff Every Cannabisseur Should Know on his bookshelf. He could’ve written the entire book himself if he wanted to. He’s just that good. (Sorry, Marc Luber.) And so instead of giving Snoop a hard sell on the latest in our Stuff You Should Know series, we’re putting together a birthday reading list – one best enjoyed after a visit to your favorite cannabis shop.
Dining In by Alison Roman
We like to think that Snoop would start the day diving into a really excellent cookbook. We’re Dining In super fans, cooking from this book so often that the pages are starting to stick together from all the olive oil stains. (Don’t you love a well-loved cookbook?) We recommend starting with the first recipe in the book: Vinegar Roasted Beets with Spring Onions and Yogurt. It’s the perfect long cook, giving Snoop plenty of time to browse the incredible food photography and read Roman’s honest anecdotes.

Less by Andrew Sean Greer
As Snoop savors those vinegar roasted beets, we hope he’ll do so while pouring over the trippy Pulitzer Prize winning Less by Andrew Sean Greer. The novel is filled with is this really happening moments, blurring the lines between reality and fiction. It’s also the first piece of satire that’s ever made us laugh out loud, so we’re kind of hoping it makes Snoop Dogg do the same.

To All the Boys I’ve Loved Before by Jenny Han
After some delicious brunch time reading, we’d send Snoop out to his local independent bookstore with strict orders to pick up all three books in the To All the Boys I’ve Loved Before trilogy by Jenny Han. It’s the kind of series that we can picture Snoop getting super into, fighting for Lara Jean to find herself before she falls head over heels for the problematic Peter Kavinsky. (Sorry, Noah Centineo. We still love you.) It’s the kind of overly romantic and truly perfect young adult romance series that you want to drop everything and tell your friends about – and we can picture Snoop Dogg doing just that. Maybe he should buy a set for his son, just in case.

Saga by Brian K. Vaughan and Fiona Staples
To close out his birthday, we’re recommending Snoop read Saga by Brian K. Vaughan and Fiona Staples. It’s the kind of visually stimulating comic series that we just can’t get enough of – and good thing too because there are literally fifty-four issues out in the world, with another fifty-four to come. It’s the birthday gift that keeps on giving!
